Bryson DeChambeau bombs 427-yard drive down cart path

To quote David Simms in Tin Cup: “Still going.”

Bryson DeChambeau took a play out of the movie character’s playbook during the second round of the Travelers Championship, using a path for a little more distance.

The PGA Tour’s bulked-up mad scientist hit a 427-yard bomb of a drive on the par-4 10th hole at TPC River Highlands Friday afternoon, aided by 100-plus yards of roll – and bounce – down the cart path. After getting relief from the path, DeChambeau had just 46 yards to the green.

Was he trying to hit the path? Of course not. But that doesn’t make the shot any less impressive. Just watch this ball keep rolling. (Editor’s note: ShotLink reports that the drive went 427 yards; PGA Tour tweet says 428).

Despite the distance, the five-time winner on Tour was unable to take advantage and walked away with a disappointing bogey.
